Scope

This blog was created to help Free Open Source Software and Linux implementation projects move along within a transparent environment, where all players have equal say.

One of the biggest drawbacks that both FOSS and Linux have is their relative anonymity - the dominance of MS Windows and MacOSX in the desktop and laptop market has traditionally forced software developers to write their code for these giants, but more recently, the proliferation of applications whose open, human-readable source code is included with the compiled binary code (ie, Free Open Source) has created a myriad of choices for users.

Openly discussing strengths and weaknesses may be an overly-ambitious way to promote an operating system or even applications that work well with one of the more traditional systems, but for those that want to learn a little more about the free choices that technology offers, this may be a good forum.
